PARTNERS serves adult artists with disabilities or in other life situations that prevent them from fully participating in the mainstream arts community. These talented artists are matched with professional artists on an individual basis. Mentoring artists assist apprentice artists in developing technique, guide them with vital connections to the local arts community and, in many other ways, foster growth and hope for the future. The culminating activity, after a minimum of 25 contact hours, is an exhibition that features the work of both the apprentice and the mentor artist.
Apprentice artists are chosen from applicants in the community and are screened to determine the level of their artistic skills. After individual goal setting, each partnership embarks on the mentoring experience, with activities designed to increase the apprentice artists’ skills.
