A word from the artsits:

I am movitivated by the unexpected, which plein air adventures offer plenty of of inspiration. Beautiful vistas, good company and wildlife sightings- all make for excellent storytelling fodder. I feel most alive when I'm painting, almost like I'm dueling the landscape or the painting. I'm not just creative a memory but I'm living a memory every moment that I'm painting. Plus I have a record of it. And that's pretty fantastic.

Art by Survivors of Sexual Assault/Abuse

Resilience: Art by Survivors is multimedia group exhibit to offer a platform for survivors of sexual assault and abuse to tell their stories on their own terms.  We feel it is important to discuss abuse and acknowledge the traumas we have passed through in our daily lives in order to raise awareness and support for all sexual assault victims.  Our art allows us to bring out unworded stories and express them in an expressive way.  The process of creating these works creates a living document that shares the tales of then, now and tomorrow.

In an effort to bring awareness to the issue and invite dialog and support, we will be creating an art installation by collecting stones from survivors and their supporters with Deborah Brinckerhoff during the duration of this show. If you feel moved to, please bring a stone with you when you come to visit this exhibit.
