Our adult residency programs and workshops for adults with disabilities provide individuals with opportunities to express themselves and discover their artistic identity. We are so proud to be part of an arts community that has made is a priority to provide programs specifically for disabled adults.

Shandra Benito, Art Access Executive Director, had the chance to be interviewed for the below article. Here are some excerpts:

"And while art programs can help anyone who takes them, their impact can be even more profound for those with disabilities, said Benito.

“This might be because they haven't been given access to art before and because of the stress, hardship and barriers that come with living as an adult with a disability in a world that was not necessarily built for you and does not always accommodate your needs,"
