Resilience: Art by Survivors of Sexual Assualt

Open Studio & Art TherapyIMG 0459 1
for Survivors of Sexual Abuse

Art Access provides two 6-week art therapy workshops specificially for suvivors of sexual abuse and assualt. This program provides adult participatns with an opportunity to express themselves and heal through art. Led by a certified art therapist each this workshop series offers survivors of sexual abuse a safe and creative forum to express their experiences, emotions and trauma. This program culminates in a 3-day retreat for all workshop participants. Please know that survivors of any type of sexual abuse, trauma, assault, incest, rape, etc. are welcome in this program.

Based on the Open Studio Project, founded in Chicago, participants will explore various art mediums individually and through a collective group experience. Participants will learn about intention, art-making and witness writing. This is an opportunity for previous participants to continue their self exploration or for new participants to try out this unique form of therapy.

In Spring 2018 Art Access will be holding a currated gallery exhibit filled exclusively with art created by first or secondary survivors of sexual assualt and abuse. Come back later for more details.
