ART ACCESS & LEGACY GIVING

Have you considered including a bequest for Art Access in your will or trust, or naming Art Access as a beneficiary of assets in your living trust? When you inform us of your planned gift intentions, you become a Legacy Donor, allowing us to recognize you for your generosity, foresight, and dedication to Art Access and those we serve.

Is a legacy gift the right choice for you?

Legacy gifts are for everybody, not just those who are wealthy. They represent a meaningful way to reflect and express your values, and strengthen Art Access for the long term.

What is the value of a legacy gift?

Through a planned gift of any amount, you are placing value on the mission of Art Access, investing in the worth of the full range of human experience that is essential in cultivating a civil and respectful community. A legacy gift helps ensure that Art Access retains its vibrant role in your life and the lives of future generations.

Benefits of Legacy Giving:

• Determine the legacy you leave behind;
• Provide inheritances to your heirs at a lower tax cost;
• Make a larger charitable gift than you may have thought possible;
• Enhance the value of your estate while reducing estate taxes;
• Insure that your gift is exempt from gift taxes;
• Diversify your investment portfolio; and
• Leave a legacy without giving up assets

What’s next?

As a donor, you can designate your legacy gift with a specific purpose, such as support for youth programs, integrated arts residencies, literary workshops and activities, artist mentoring, gallery exhibitions, or accessibile tools and assistive technologies. You may also choose to leave your gift unrestricted so that Art Access can apply it toward the organization’s greatest need upon receipt.

There are many forms of legacy gifts that are simple to incorporate into your estate planning. Below are three steps to take toward planning a legacy gift.

1. Contact your attorney and your financial advisor.* Tell them that you are considering a planned legacy gift to Art Access. They can assist you in defining what gift best fits with your personal and financial circumstances.
2. Talk with family and close friends about your plans and personal wishes in addressing family inheritance needs, as well as your legacy gifts.
3. Contact Art Access at 801-328-0703, option 3, to speak confidentially with our executive director, or email . We can provide you with sample language for bequests or discuss your gift structure.
